The fifth, sixth, and seventh grade tech classes have been studying digital art, copyright laws, and creating their own artwork using on-line photo editing programs. Students learned some key techniques like recoloring, tinting, cropping, resizing, distorting, and applying certain effects like filters, multiple layers, masking, and adjusting transparency and opacity. In this post, we'll see some of the best work by the 5th through 7th grade classes!
Photo Remix Project
Students searched for high quality images on a photo sharing website called Flickr. They made sure to only use photos that were available for use under a Creative Commons license. Then, they uploaded their photo into an online software editing program called FotoFlexer. Student projects were graded on creativity, originality, complexity, and mastery of the editing program. Self Portraits
The class also studied several famous self portraits and were then tasked with creating their own! The first step was taking a photo of themselves using the app Photo Booth. Students then uploaded their photo into the online photo editing program FotoFlexer. Students were asked to show their personality and were graded on creativity, originality, complexity, and mastery of the editing program. Check out some of the best projects!
